Welcome to the Temple City church of  Christ!

We are very different from most other churches you may have visited or heard of.  We do not belong to a denomination, we are not under any central church government (like a pope, national headquarters, etc.), and we have no famous “pastor” as our leader.  We belong to CHRIST, and Christ only.  We follow His Word in the Bible.  The Bible says, “Do not go beyond what is written.  Then you will not take pride in one man above another.”   In Jesus’ church everyone is equal!  With Jesus as the head of us all.  In the Bible it says, “….speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ.  From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.”  It’s really an amazing thing!

We study God’s Word together, eat together, fellowship together, spend time together, pray for each other, and all around love each other!  Come and see what it’s like to share in this love!

Every first day of the week, (Sunday) we remember Jesus in the way He asked us to, by taking bread and grape juice to remember His body and blood that He gave for us.     1 Corinthians 11:23-29.

Also on the first day of the week, we give a free will offering.  You are welcome to give but NOT required to!  In the Bible it says, “Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”

Now you have a quick description of us….but there’s nothing like seeing it in person!  In the Bible, when a man named Philip found out about Jesus, he went right away to tell his friend Nathanael, who didn’t want to believe him.  So Philip told him, “Come and see.”  He did come and see–and his life was changed forever!  So that’s what we invite you to do–come and see how amazing the church of Christ is!  Not flashy or showy–just a happy, loving family of Christ.  Come and see!
